We read The Curse of the Bone Pirates: Nui Island Ecological Adventures by B.T. Hope.
I have to say, even though this is a children's book, it held my interest from beginning to end. I will even go so far as to say it's a true "page turner". My daughter agrees. She read the book in two days because she just had to finish it to see how it ends. She actually put down the Twilight book she was reading because she wanted to finish The Curse of the Bone Pirates to see how it ended.
The story is about a boy name "Big B" who has to leave his life and friends in Chicago to visit his sick grandfather who lives on mysterious island called Nui Island. Almost immediately Big B starts the adventure of a life time filled with intrigue and danger around every corner.
While on Nui Island Big B makes friends with Sam and Nalu. Before you know it strange things start to happen and legends come to life when they uncover the curse of the Bone Pirates in order to help Big B's grandfather to restore his soul.
This book has something for EVERYONE! It's great for kids, adults, boys or girls. It's an adventure story with a lot of twists and turns, danger, action, pirates, creepy crawly things and more. My daughter says that it was even scary in some parts (but not REALLY scary...more like a "nail biter").
Behind this action and adventure story there is a very important ecological message and environmental lessons to learn. The book encourages children (and adults) to take better care of our environment and to recognize a lot of the important environmental issues that effect all of us.
This book is put out by a company called Nui. Nui encourages children to live a healthy lifestyle. They make a variety of drinks for kids and they donates 50 percent of its beverage profits to children's health and environmental charities. Nui hopes that by having an amazing adventure story like The Curse of the Bone Pirates will help kids to better understand environmental issues.
Nui has a lot of fun things on their site including games, fun facts, a cool coloring book and more. Click here to visit Nui and learn more about their products, enjoy some fun free games and learn more about Nui and how they are doing their part to help our environment.
Both my daughter and myself give The Curse of the Bone Pirates: Nui Island Ecological Adventures FOUR "thumbs up" (two each). We each read it in two days because we couldn't put the book down. We were anxious to see what exciting things were going to happen with the turn of the page.
The Curse of the Bone Pirates: Nui Island Ecological Adventures is available on the Nui site and at Amazon.
Thank you to the Family Review Network for the opportunity to read this exciting book.

that sounds like a wonderful book. I wonder what age level it is for? My oldest is 6 and can read rather well I was wondering if it would be a book age appropriate for her.
