My Bible Cards & Giveaway

Do you remember trading cards? Growing up my friends and I loved to collect and trade trading cards. I remember having baseball cards, football cards and some other type of card that I don't remember, but I do recall that there was a puzzle you could put together on the back of some of the cards and it was a challenge to find all the puzzle pieces. I also remember how they often came with that hard piece of gum that shattered into a million little pieces when you bit into it. Looking back it amazes me that I was so easily entertained by some cards, for hours at a time. They were simple, inexpensive and everyone just had to have them.

These days they have still have sports trading cards and those horrible Pokeman cards. I mean no disrespect to the Pokeman people (or fans of Pokeman), I just don't get it. A couple of years ago my son wanted Pokeman cards because the boys in his class all had them and he wanted to be a part of it, even though he had no interest in the cards whatsoever. My husband and I tried so hard to figure it out but we couldn't. I really didn't approve of the cards because the characters were so funky looking and they fought with each other.

I recently found a series of trading cards that I am THRILLED to let my kids play with. They are called My Bible Cards. Not only are they fun to trade but they also teach children about stories in the Bible and provide children with facts, time lines and fun trivia. The artwork on the cards is amazing! There are certainly no purple monsters with spikes coming out of it's eyes found on these cards.

I think My Bible Cards are a great way to teach your children stories from the Bible in a way they can "relate" to. How often can you make the Bible "fun" for children and something they get very excited about?

My Bible Cards are VERY sturdy too. These are not cheap, flimsy cards you buy at the local supermarket. These are high quality cards chuck full of fascinating facts, teachings and stories from the Bible and the most amazing art work.

To give you a few examples, on the Dove card there is a beautiful illustration of a dove carrying the Olive branch just about the perch on Noah's hand. The back of the card features a drawing of a dove and the different body parts (great fun facts kids love to learn!). There is some interesting facts about doves and the story about how Noah sent the dove off to find land and how the dove returned with the Olive branch.

The card for Moses in the basket features a colorful image of the baby Moses in the basket among the reeds. The back of the card features a time line ranging from when slavery began up to the burning bush and a few important events along the way (like the births of Moses and Joseph). The card also features information about Basketry and some terminology used in basket making. The card also features the story about how Moses' mother, Jochebed, placed Moses in the basket to hide him from the Pharaoh.

The cards are amazing! There are cards for Mount Sinai, Passover, the Ten Commandments, the various plagues, Adam and Eve and so much more. Even if you are already familiar with the stories from the Bible I am sure you will find facts on these cards that you did not know. I know I learned a few things from reading these cards. The cards are also written in an easy to understand language so that even the youngest child can read and learn from them with ease.
