I will be the first one to admit that I am an overly paranoid parent. We have children in our complex that are considered "Latch Key Kids" (kids that go home to an empty home) as young as 6 years old! That is just SO WRONG on so many levels. Even my own nieces are Latch Key Kids. What irks me is that their mother was laid off for a few months and her daughter still walked to and from the bus by herself. True, she's 11 years old now, but none the less her mother was home and her daughter walks BEHIND buildings where she can easily be abducted.
My kids are in middle school now (5th and 7th) and I still get them on and off the bus. I stand outside and watch them when they are walking the dog. They are never out of my site except when they are with friends or at school. My greatest fear is something happening to either of them.
This time a year can be pretty scary for parents. With all the hustle and bustle and huge crowds at the stores and in the mall it's very easy for a young child to get lost. Even the most paranoid parent (like myself) can turn your back for just a split second and find your child missing. Most of the time the child is just a few feet away.
When an older child gets lost they usually know to go up to a security gaurd, Police Officer or store employee and let the know they are lost. Older children know their name, addressa and phone number too which makes it easier for them to be reunited with their family. But what about the younger children who might not talk yet or are too young to know important information?
My Precious Kid is your #1 source for child safety products. I know Kay personally. We have been friends for many years. I have used her products with my own children so I can vouche for their quality and effectiveness.
My Precious Kid offers products such as Child Locators, Inside Shoe Stickers, ID Bracelets, Personal Alarms, Seat Belt Covers, First Aid Kits, DNA Dental Impression Kits and much, much more.
One of the products My Precious Kids offers are Kids Dog Tags. I am using these tags with my children right now. My kids are old enough to remember their home number but often forget important numbers like my husband's office number or our cell phone numbers. I have the Kids Dog Tags for both my kids. It's engraved with their names, our home number, my cell number and my husband's work number. They are attached inside their backpack. This also serves as an ID in case (heaven forbid!) my child goes missing and the backpack is found.
My kids actually think they are cool. They look like real military dog tags. They also come in different colors. My daughter has pink and my son has blue. I like the purple one. You can even have them engraved with fun designs like a cat, flower, car or child. Each Kids Dog Tag also comes with a rubber piece that wraps around it so there are no worries about sharp sides or listening to it clank against keys or zippers.
The Kids Dog Tags would be great for your child to wear on their belt loop when they are going on a field trip. You can even use them on luggage if you are traveling this holiday season.
You can personalize the tags for your child if they have allergies or special medical requirements too. They can be used for a variety of situations. And because they are so "trendy" most kids enjoy wearing them. Trust me, if my fashion diva daughter is OK wearing this then I'm sure it's fine (LOL). My son wants to wear it as a necklace but I told him he has to keep it on his backpack.
I forgot to mention that each Kids Dog Tag comes with a hoop you can use to attach it to things. The hoop is a screw closure so you don't have to worry about it accidently coming off.
To learn more about the Kids Dog Tags you can visit www.MyPreciousKid.com. Scroll down a little on the products page, or you can use the search option found at the top left side of the home page. While you are there you should check out all the other great safety products available.
This year gift the gift of safey and peace mind not only for yourself but also for a friend or relative. Safety products make thoughtful gifts.

I would love to have this kit. 2 of my 4 kids have Neurofibromatosis and are socially vulnerable (they have no idea what stranger-danger means), and since they have this, I'd also love the IdentaKey Medical Records Storage. They are on a variety of medications and have many medical issues. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would like to order a couple of the GE Keypads that work by use of magnets. We have actually had break ins in our fairly small town and our kids are scared.
The precious kid kit is a great idea!
